Children's Service
Designed for children 5 years of age and younger, the Children’s Mass is a hands-on, interactive service with lots of singing and physical movement. An animated picture Bible is used to teach the Christian story in a relatable and age appropriate manner. For Holy Communion, the children gather around a small table and assist the priest and participate in the prayers. This is an ideal service for families who would like to experience Christian community and attend Mass, but find it difficult to attend with younger children. The entire Mass is about 25 minutes long in duration.

ABOUT THE EPIPHANY OF OUR LORD . . . The word epiphany means manifestation. The Epiphany was originally observed in the Eastern Church as the feast celebrating the manifestation of Christ as God’s Son at his Baptism, the manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles (the Magi representing the brightest of the Gentile world) and the manifestation of his miraculous power by turning water into wine. As early as the fourth century, Epiphany ranked along with the two other major feasts of Easter (Pascha) and Pentecost. The feast entered the Western Church at some point in the fourth or fifth century but its focus came to be narrowed to Christ’s manifestation to the Gentiles.
