We will have our first outdoor worship service on the front lawn of Holy Trinity Church in Hillsdale on Saturday, July 25 at 5 PM. The Diocese of Newark has provided an extensive list of guidelines to minimize risk and keep people as safe as possible. We have submitted the paperwork to the diocese, and we have agreed to follow all safety regulations.
We ask parishioners to:
Register for the service by email at holytrinitypic@gmail.com In the event that contact tracing is necessary, we need to have a complete list of attendees.
Remain six feet apart from other parishioners. People in the same household do not have to follow this rule. Ushers will greet you and bring you to designated, pre-measured spots.
Wear a mask
Bring your own lawn chair, if possible
Bring your own Book of Common Prayer or use your smartphone or tablet to download the service leaflet. Leaflets will not be provided at the service.
Do not greet one another with a handshake, hug, fist/elbow bump. This will be very difficult to follow, but it’s one of the most important rules.
At the conclusion of the service, ushers will guide people off the lawn in an orderly and safe fashion.
Please do not attend the service if you are feeling ill.
Unless it’s an emergency, the church building will be closed to all parishioners during the service.
The service will be canceled if there is rain in the forecast.
Please check the weather the day of the service. If it’s incredibly hot and humid, as it tends to be in NJ in late July, you may want to consider if you are healthy enough to be outside for 40 minutes in the heat.
This will not be a Communion service. We will celebrate the Liturgy of the Word.
We thank everyone for their cooperation in following these rules. Our primary goal is to be good stewards of one another and of one’s self. Should this service go well, we will consider other dates for August.
Virtual worship will still be offered on Sunday morning, July 26th at 9 AM (Children’s Service) and 10 AM (Liturgy of the Word).
